Harry Potter DVD Set
Any fan of the Harry Potter books or movies would love to have a Harry Potter DVD Set this Christmas. It features five movies, all beautifully packaged in a very nice looking trunk case, that when folded appears as a miniature antique foot locker. The set also includes some very high quality bookmarks, trading cards, bonus DVD's, and a Harry Potter Game.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
The first movie in the Harry Potter DVD Set is a light hearted jaunt through Harry's first year at Hogwarts. We are introduced to the main characters that carry through to all of the other installments. Harry is thrust into stardom from anonymity when he and his new friends, Ron and Hermione discover that the Sorcerer's Stone is being stored at Hogwarts and that the Dark Lord, Voldemort, seeks it in order to bring himself back to power and become immortal.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
After defeating Voldemort in the first movie, Harry returns to Hogwarts for his second year. This movie is about as kid friendly as the first film, but deals with some darker magic as Voldemort returns via an old diary slipped in among the schoolbooks of Ron's little sister, Ginny. Harry, Ron, and Hermione must find the entrance to a secret chamber to stop the monster within from killing students and shutting the school down.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
The third installment of the Harry Potter DVD Set finds Harry learning of a convicted murderer after he escapes from Azkaban, the magical world's prison. With dark prison 'guards' called dementors floating around, Harry must learn advanced magic to defend himself as he begins to learn that people and things are not always what they seem.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
The first really long book of the series of course must be the first long movie, and it is packed with action and adventure. Harry attends the Quidditch World Cup final match, which is disturbed by a band of Death Eaters (followers of Voldemort). With the Death Eaters as a new threat, Harry faces a challenge beyond anything he's ever imagined when someone puts his name in the running for the TriWizard Tournament. Hogwarts plays host to students from two other schools of magic, and as alliances are formed, Voldemort's sinister plan to return to power comes to fruition in a scary and dark scene in an old bone yard.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The fifth movie is the darkest yet, and we learn of the Order of the Phoenix, a secret society founded by Dumbledore to combat the evil Death Eaters. Harry faces adversity at every turn as people refuse to believe that Voldemort has returned. When Azkaban faces a mass breakout and the Death Eaters regroup and rally around their old master, Harry and a group of students form a clandestine defense group, determined to teach each other what their new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher refuses to teach.
Even though the Harry Potter DVD Set isn't a complete collection of all the movies (one of which isn't even out yet), it is still something that belongs on any fan's shelf. Just the extras alone can take several hours to go through, and you can learn anything you want to know about the magical world of Harry Potter and what went into creating that magic on film.
